Laura O’Donovan, Founder & Caregiver
Laura started her career in a residential nursing home in Ireland, caring for people living with many forms of dementia. That experience shaped her path. She went on to train in elderly care, fall prevention, Alzheimer’s care, and end-of-life support before moving into the emergency department of a university hospital, where she cared for people from all walks of life in every kind of situation.
From there, Laura moved into the funeral home industry. Even while caring for the deceased, her deepest focus was on the families: organizing what needed to be done and easing stress during one of the hardest times of their lives.
After moving to Massachusetts, Laura worked with a home care company caring for dementia clients and people who needed overnight support in their own homes. Opening her own company had always been the goal. Now based on the South Shore, Grá Home Care brings that vision to life: private care that supports the person, the household, and the family members trying to keep everything coordinated.
